Szkłem epoksydowym nazywamy wyroby w postaci laminatu warstwowego na bazie tkanin szklanych utwardzonych żywicami epoksydowymi. Występuje ono w licznych odmianach różniących się składem i właściwościami w zależności od zastosowania. Najczęściej występują grupy: szklano-epoksydowe, silikonowe, melaminowe.
Epoxy glass has good dielectric and mechanical properties, making it most commonly used for construction and electrical insulation, including in high-voltage applications. It is a material with low water absorption.
The glass fiber content is responsible for this material's high mechanical strength and relatively low weight. The presence of epoxy resin provides high temperature resistance and dimensional stability.
