PET

Polyethylene terephthalate, commonly known as PET, is a thermoplastic material. PET is used in areas exposed to moisture and where high dimensional stability and strength are required. These properties allow it to be used in precision components.

In terms of chemical resistance, PET, compared to PA6 and POM, exhibits greater resistance to acids but less resistance to alkalis.

PET is available in transparent, white, frosted, and anti-reflective sheets. It is also available in a UV-stabilized version.

Properties:

High ductility and stiffness

Brittle at low temperatures

High strength and hardness

Abrasion resistant

Thermally stable, low coefficient of thermal expansion

Dimensional stability

Sensitive to hydrolysis

Examples of applications:

Sliding components (bearing bushings, rollers, slides)

Electrical insulating components

High-gloss components

Food contact components

Cold water contact components
